Ideas 1.) The traditional monogram consists of three initials. The last initial is placed in the center and is the largest of the three. For example: If your name were Elizabeth Anne Brown the order would read "EBA." 2.) For a Bride and a Bridegroom there are a few options. Traditionally, the monogram consists only of the woman's initials with her new last name initial in the center. The other options, which include both the husband and the wife, would be to use his and her first initials with their last initial in the center. Most people opt to have the women’s initial first, then their last initial, then the man’s initial last. For ex: if Elizabeth married Alexander Stewart the monogram would appear as ESA. Using just the last name initial is popular as well. 3.) Feel free to just use a last name. A last name on a gift means the whole family can use it and everybody is represented. 4.) Choose the monogram to be done in the favorite color of the person you are giving the gift too - we have many thread colors available and if you don't see the color you're looking for, just give us a call or send us an email! 5.) Nicknames are allowed! 6.) Remember, you don't always have to use capital letters. Using small caps can be different and add interest. 7.) For new babies our keepsake items become even more special with the addition of their new initials, and if you like, their date of birth. First names are cute also! 8.) Please remember that you can do a variety of things. A single bold first initial always makes a statement, a traditional three-letter monogram is classic and elegant, two initials are simple and strong and a whole first name is casual and friendly. Be creative and have fun! Things to Consider : 1.) Would you like a date or other phrase along with your monogram, name or initial?
